Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2011 Frisco STYLE Best of Business competition. We are pleased to announce that for the 9th consecutive year, Frisco STYLE will be publishing our Best of Business issue in October 2011. As in the past, the issue will honor between 8 and 12 area businesses for excellence in business and each recipient will receive editorial coverage in the issue.
As we did in 2010, rather than give awards by industry categories or business type, our application and participation process will focus on the 9 critical areas of business success for any business. Every participating business will receive actionable information about their business as a result of participating in the application process. This will make participation meaningful for all businesses, whether or not they are award winners.
We also place all businesses on a “level playing field” related to how they are evaluated and awarded. Once again, Frisco STYLE has partnered with the local business coaching firm, ActionCOACH to be our evaluators. Rich Allen and his ActionCOACH team are dedicated to helping business owners improve their businesses through guidance, support and structured methodology. They have a proven record of helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed by providing tools for effective sales, marketing, leadership, team building and much more.
Winners of the 2011 Frisco STYLE Best of Business will be determined based on information gathered during the application process. Winners will not be categorized by industry, as in the past, but on excellence in business functional areas (i.e. customer service, sales process, vision and mission, etc.)
In order to be eligible, you must:
1. Complete and submit the 9th Annual Frisco STYLE Best of Business Award Application, available on the site.
2. Within 3 days of submitting your application, you will receive a more detailed questionnaire that will allow you to elaborate on the 9 critical areas that will be evaluated.
3. Once you submit the detailed questionnaire, you will be contacted by an ActionCOACH representative to complete a brief interview, either in-person or over the phone.
All applicant information will be evaluated and scored. Individual scorecards will be provided to participating businesses to help identify areas of expertise and improvement.
Best of Business Frisco award recipients will be announced at an awards reception at the Stadium Club at Pizza Hut Park on Thursday, September 30, 2011 at 5:30pm.
